It has now been 9 weeks since the last full week of Central England Darts League action, and at least a further 7 weeks, at the earliest, until the planned re-opening of pubs & clubs.
Therefore, I’m sorry to say, the CEDL committee have decided to null & void the current season.
The cancellation of all league games played so far will affect all three venues at Enderby Leicester, Spot On Loughborough & Wykin Hinckley.
The season itself had only reached the half-way point before the lockdown, the intention was to complete the season at the beginning of June, with the new season starting sometime in July.
The government has given the 4th July as the date for the possible re-opening of pubs & clubs, we cannot be sure whether this will happen or not. We will of course consult with our venues once an opening date is finally given, to ensure any safety measures are in place before we start the new league.
Due to the committee’s decision of cancelling the league, we would like to refund any subscriptions that players have so far paid. We will be contacting each player over the next few days to offer a full refund on subs via bank transfer, or a part subs refund with £25 being held towards the new season if they so wish.
We hope everyone, under the circumstances, understands our decision and we look forward to re starting the Central England Darts League hopefully sometime very soon.
Please stay safe & keep well,
